After using the reed diffuser for a period of time, the reed is saturated with essential oil, the scent will fade, and the reed needs to be replaced in time. Industry insiders share reed replacement skills to help extend the service life of aromatherapy and keep the scent stable.

First, judge the replacement time. When the scent of the reed diffuser fades significantly, or white crystals and stickiness appear on the surface of the reed, it means the reed is saturated and needs to be replaced immediately.

Second, the correct replacement steps: first take out the old reeds, wipe the mouth of the aromatherapy bottle with a paper towel to avoid essential oil residue and bacteria growth; the new reeds need to be rinsed with clean water in advance, dried and then inserted into the bottle, which can remove impurities on the surface of the reeds and enhance adsorption; do not insert all at once when inserting, insert 3-5 according to the space size, and seal the remaining reeds for storage, which can be used next time.

In addition, when replacing the reeds, do not touch the essential oil directly with your hands to avoid skin allergies; if the essential oil splashes on the skin, wash it with clean water immediately.

Experts add that the material of the reeds will affect the fragrance retention effect. Priority is given to linen and wood reeds, which have stronger adsorption and longer fragrance retention; plastic reeds have poor adsorption and are not recommended.
