After the aromatherapy candle burns, the wax surface is uneven and pitted, which not only affects the appearance, but also leads to insufficient combustion later. Industry practitioners share simple repair skills to make the candle wax surface smooth again and extend the service life.

First, prevent the wax surface from being uneven. When lighting the candle for the first time, keep it burning for 2-3 hours to make the wax surface melt evenly and form a complete “wax pool”, avoiding pits caused by local combustion; avoid placing the candle in a ventilated place when burning to prevent the flame from shaking and the wax surface from being heated unevenly.

If the wax surface is already uneven, the “wax filling method” can be used for repair: put the candle in the microwave oven, heat it with medium-low heat for 10-15 seconds to melt the surface wax layer, take it out and let it cool down, and the wax surface will be naturally smooth.

In addition, the “wax scraping method” can also be used: use a clean knife to gently scrape off the raised parts of the wax surface, collect the scraped wax shavings, heat and melt them, pour them into the pits of the candle, and it will be smooth after cooling.

Experts remind that when heating the candle, avoid heating at high temperature for too long to prevent the candle container from breaking; when lighting again after repair, trim the wick to 0.5 cm to ensure sufficient combustion.
