Car aromatherapy can refresh the air in the car, but improper selection may cause potential safety hazards. The traffic police department and industry experts jointly remind that when choosing car aromatherapy, safety should be the top priority, and 3 types of dangerous products should be avoided.
First, avoid liquid aromatherapy. The temperature in the car can reach above 60℃ in summer, and liquid aromatherapy is easy to expand and leak when heated, causing fire; if the leaked essential oil touches the center console, it may also corrode the interior. Second, avoid strong scents.
The car space is closed, and strong aromatherapy will irritate the respiratory tract, causing the driver to feel dizzy and inattentive, increasing driving risks; priority is given to light woody and fruity scents (such as cedar, lemon).

Finally, avoid low-quality aromatherapy. Low-priced car aromatherapy mostly contains synthetic fragrances and harmful ingredients, which will release toxic gases at high temperatures and endanger health; it is recommended to choose certified solid aromatherapy, aromatherapy tablets or ceramic aromatherapy. When installing, keep away from air outlets, steering wheels and airbag positions to avoid affecting driving safety. Experts add that car aromatherapy needs to be replaced regularly, every 1-2 months, to avoid bacteria growth.
